Zoology is the branch of biology that deals with animals and animal life, including the study of the structure, physiology, development, and classification of animals. Because it is full of great growth of information about animals, zoology has been subdivided. Some of the subdivisions are as:
- Anatomy : Deals with microscopic structures.
- Amphibiology : The branch of zoology that studies amphibians.
- Physiology : Deals with living processes in animals.
- Embryology : Deals with the study of development of new individuals.
- Genetics : Deals with with heredity and variations.
- Parasitology : Deals with animals living in or on others.
- Natural history : With life and behavior in nature
- ecology : With the relation of animals to their environments
- Taxonomy : With the classification of animals or a system of naming things, as plants or animals.
- Acarology : A division of zoology that studies mites and ticks.
- Arachnology (arachnidology) : A branch of zoology that studies spiders and other arachnids.
- Cetology : The study of whales.
